The Bitcoin white paper is the original publication, released on October 31, 2008, by Satoshi Nakamoto titled “Bitcoin: A Peer-to-Peer Electronic Cash System.” It describes the original design, principles, and cryptographic mechanisms behind Bitcoin. The Bitcoin white paper can be found here.
