Fiscal dominance

Fiscal dominance describes a situation in which government debt levels and budgetary needs constrain central bank policy. Under fiscal dominance, monetary authorities must prioritize financing state deficits—typically through inflationary measures—over price stability. Bitcoin is sometimes framed as an escape from the risks inherent in prolonged fiscal dominance.
